Books & Beginnings XVIII

img_1111-1Reveal: Equal Rites by Terry Pratchett, A Novel of Discworld is the book from Books & Beginnings XVII. This could be any book from the Discworld series – they are all marvelous. Funny, unpredictable, turning conventional storytelling on its head. I picked Equal Rites because as the quote from the last post claims, it is about sex, but not in the way you might think.

 

Up Next: My best friend is the most vivacious reader I have ever known and I know a lot of readers, writers, editors, and agents. She has eclectic taste, is an editor herself, and I can never keep up with all the recommendations she brings me. Some of them I am a bit lukewarm on. When Ginger recommended this book, I felt a little skeptical. Silly me. It became one of my favorite books of all time.

Mr. Dunworthy opened the door to the laboratory and his spectacles promptly steamed up.

“Am I too late?” he said, yanking them off and squinting at Mary.
